What We Do

Financial Support of MGE - PTA allocates funds for each teacher for classroom supplies as well as funds for school-wide needs including technology resources, art supplies, musical instruments, library materials, PE/recess equipment and much more.

Geckopalooza Fall Fundraiser and Celebration - PTA's Annual Fall Fundraiser that ends with a fun family event that brings our Gecko community together! 

Gecko Gear – PTA coordinates the production and sale of MGE spirit wear. Show your school pride and support our school. 

Helping Geckos - PTA works with our school social worker to collect and distribute items to our community throughout the year. (School Supplies Drive, Holiday Food Drive, etc.)

Cultural Arts Performances – PTA funds and coordinates in-school programs and performances for students throughout the school year.

Book Fair – PTA coordinates and runs a book fair, allowing families to purchase books for their home libraries while also raising funds to support our school.

School Pictures and Yearbooks – PTA provides support during Fall and Spring school picture days and coordinates the production of our school yearbook.

Reflections Arts Program - PTA coordinates the National PTA Reflections Arts Program at MGE.

Read-a-thon –PTA organizes this school-wide celebration of literacy. All students are provided with a reading log to record minutes read during the week. 

School Spirit & Fundraising Events – PTA will organize several events with the help of a local business to bring our Gecko community together while raising funds to support our school. 

After-School Enrichment - PTA coordinates extracurricular activities offered to students for a small fee including Chess Club. 

Multicultural Night - PTA plans this annual celebration of our diverse school community - Many Cultures, One Gecko Family - it is an evening of food, music and fun from around the world.

Teacher & Staff Hospitality Events - Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW) is organized annually by the PTA as a week to say thank you to our teachers. Previous activities have included: writing thank you notes, wearing Gecko Gear, and participating in a Teacher Red Carpet Parade to greet them upon their morning arrival. Throughout TAW, the PTA coordinates meals and other special treats for our teachers and staff.  The PTA also hosts a festive luncheon each year for our teachers and staff in December.  Through out the year, Teacher Work Day hospitality events are hosted by the PTA for teachers and staff. 

Spring Fling – PTA funds and coordinates this annual school celebration full of games, food and lots of gecko fun.  This is one of our biggest events and is a beloved MGE tradition that brings many gecko alums back as volunteers. Fun for the whole family!

Wellness & PSF 5K for Education - PTA promotes the CHCCS Public School Foundation's 5K for Education and other wellness initiatives at MGE.
